What to Pack

  • Cool clothes for hot conditions — that is, cotton shirts and shorts.
  • A light sweater or jacket for chilly evenings
  • A small umbrella or a lightweight raincoat for unexpected showers
  • Beach and water activity swimwear and swimming shoes
  • High-Spf Sunscreen to Avoid Getting Burned by the Caribbean Sun
  • Town and nature walking shoes (speaking of shoes, this is the most comfortable one I have that I can wear to walk neither heels nor sandals neither sports shoes)
  • We do forget one thing sometimes, reusable water bottle anyway to drink water from time to time in the humid climate. Blending in is easy due to casual nature of local style with simple, comfy clothing.

Events & Festivals

Events such as the Bahamas National Heritage Festival, which highlight local culture, music, and crafts, occur in October in the Bahamas. The festival infused an exciting ambience with family-oriented activities and vernacular performances.

Because it is out of tourist season, hotel prices are often still relatively low during this time. That means less tourist traffic, and fewer people to try to enjoy things with.

Should I Visit the Bahamas in October?

October has a number of pluses as well as drawbacks for the traveller. It has lower crowds and good prices, all while it is warm and the seas are warm too. But the opposite is true: during summer, the probability of rain is high and humidity often makes the days heavy.

The perfect time of year for slow travel without needing to plan for a million things such as random showers every hour. October might also appeal to families and couples looking for quiet beaches. Outdoor adventurers can still indulge in fewer interruptions with water sport activities and also hiking tours on islands.
