In the heart of Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, a dramatic scene unfolded between a snowy owl and its prey. This particular day, the owl's behavior seemed unusual, repeatedly flying down to the ground and back up to its perch on a power pole. Intrigued, I ventured into the field for a closer look. The field, though swathed, still held grain covered by snow, and mice were abundant. The owl, surprisingly trusting, allowed me to capture this image with my 600mm lens within just 15 minutes. This photograph is part of a Limited Edition series, available in sizes 8x10 and larger, and a Conservation Edition in 30x40 up to 20 pieces.
